Why are the motor wires different on the old and new cylindrical chassis?

Answer

In 2008 our cylindrical 9K motor design changed. If you have a new electronics board you also need to use the new cylindrical chassis; if using an old electronics board you have to also use the old cylindrical chassis. If new and old product are mixed this could cause premature failures on the chassis. The connectors have been changed on the harnesses and cylindrical chassis to make sure old and new product cannot be hooked together. This only affects cylindrical locks.

Applies To

9KBV and 9KG (BASIS Offline Cylindrical) or 9KZ (Cylindrical Keypad EZ)
